Ductless Mini-split System
A ductless mini-split system is a form of air conditioning that doesn’t require ductwork in your home.
The system has two parts: an outside compressor and indoor unit. An outside compressor can be affixed to your home either like a traditional AC unit, or can be attached to a roof or terrace. The second part is an indoor unit, also known as the evaporator. These are connected by connecting lines through the wall.
Mini-splits are a form of air conditioning that is becoming more and more popular. They are an excellent home and business cooling solution for buildings that do not have ducts and cannot have them installed for whatever reason.
There are two types of these mini-splits systems. You can have a single-zone or a multi-zone ductless system.
Single-zone ductless systems are ideal for heating and cooling small spaces like single rooms or supplementing your current system.
These ductless HVAC systems are best suited for providing air conditioning for single rooms, additions and supplemental support for problem areas in larger homes. With a zoning solution, you will have control over the comfort of each area fitted with a ductless unit.
Homeowners fight over temperatures in their homes and have rooms that go unused for long periods. Now they can save energy and control temperatures independently in up to eight separate zones, with a single outdoor unit.
With available wall-mounted, concealed slim-duct, ceiling cassette, and floor-mounted indoor options, multi-zone systems offer multiple indoor unit styles to meet all home comfort needs.
Advantages of Ductless Multi-Splits
They Can Be Put Anywhere
The one great advantage of a mini-split system is that it can be put anywhere in a room where it can be vented. This means it can be put on the wall, the ceiling, or on the floor.
Mini-split units are also small and have an advantage over a typical room AC unit in that they do not have to be put in a window.
They are Easy to Install
Ductless AC systems may be a bit more expensive for homeowners to install, but they are actually easier for professionals to install than a central air conditioning system. Because they don’t require ductwork, mini-splits can go anywhere in any room.
They are Energy Efficient
Each room in a home can have its own mini-split and each of them can be operated independently. This means that rooms that are inhabited can be cooled, while rooms that are uninhabited do not have to be. This saves the home or business owner money on energy costs.
They also do not have ducts that can leak energy. They are also much quieter than a window air conditioner. On average, a customer with an Energy Star rated mini-split system can save close to 30% on his or her energy bills.
