There is more to indoor air quality than just heating and cooling. Crystal Air & Water, Inc. can provide options that can actually help improve the health and comfort of your home.
Indoor Air Quality- Humidity Control
Crystal Air & Water, Inc. professionals understand how the right humidity level in your home can increase comfort and decrease heating and cooling bills. We also know that mold and mildew thrive in a humid environment that can aggravate allergies and arthritic conditions. To help your family combat excessive humidity, we offer variable speed air handlers that can significantly improve the moisture levels in your home. Our variable speed air handlers can remove up to twenty-four gallons of water a day in Florida’s climate, which is four times more than a conventional air handler. We want you to live comfortably in every way, and our team will help you discover what type of air handler is right for your family so that the quality of the air in your home will contribute to your comfort.
Indoor Air Quality – Air Cleaners
Indoor air pollution poses a threat to respiratory health, and everyone should consider doing as much as they can to improve the indoor air quality. TRANE Clean Effects cleaners minimize the health effects of indoor air pollutants, such as dust, pet dander, pollen, and chemicals, as well as reduce the presence of airborne viruses and bacteria. Crystal Air & Water, Inc. professionals are experienced in air quality evaluation, and they are prepared to help you assess your family’s air health needs.
Did you know? A new Trane Clean Effects system will remove 99.98% of allergens from your home. The filtered air will remove dust, pollen, mites, smoke, bacteria, lint, fungus and mildew and leave the air in your home CLEAN.
Indoor Air Quality – UV Lights
UV Lights can prevent mold growth on the evaporator coil. Honeywell UV Lights can destroy many virus types, mold, and bacteria. If you are struggling with allergies and have trouble breathing right in your own home, call Crystal Air & Water, Inc. to determine if a UV light would help alleviate your air troubles.
Indoor Air Quality – Duct Cleaning & Sanitizing
Your duct system functions as the respiratory system of your home. Dust, dirt, pollen, animal dander, and other airborne contaminants are pulled into your duct system every time the heating and cooling system runs. These contaminants build up inside the ductwork over time and can make your duct system an ideal breeding ground for mold spores, bacteria, fungus, mildew, and other microbes.
The removal of contaminants from the entire HVAC system is recognized by industry experts as the most effective way to eliminate air duct pollutants. This is referred to as the “source removal” method of duct cleaning. In addition to the obvious health benefits, duct cleaning can help you maintain a cleaner home. Crystal Air & Water, Inc., owns and maintains the most advanced “source removal” equipment available. This high tech, state-of-the-art system is used by leading professional duct cleaners throughout North America, and is widely recognized as the most significant breakthrough in duct cleaning equipment technology in the past thirty years.
Indoor Air Quality – Three Step Cleaning Process
The key components of this system are the patented HEPA-AIRE portable power vacuum and the AIRE-SWEEP compressor. This system enables our trained technicians to reach and thoroughly clean your entire duct system with minimal noise and disruption.
- The HEPA-AIRE power vacuum is connected to the duct system near the furnace.
- 1 inch access holes are drilled into the air ducts.
- Long lengths of air hose with special 360° high velocity nozzles are connected to the compressor and “snaked” through the entire duct system dislodging debris that has accumulated on inner duct surfaces.
The HEPA-AIRE unit creates a powerful vacuum, pulling dislodged contaminants into its filtration system. This filtration system is so efficient that it captures contaminants 1/300th the diameter of a human hair and returns filtered “hospital grade” air to your home. Once your duct system has been cleaned, we reseal all access holes and your ducts are returned to “like new” condition.
Air ducts are the components of your central system that distribute conditioned air to various parts of your home. Supply ducts carry the air to the individual rooms of the home, and the return ducts carry the air back to the air handler or furnace. Ducts are manufactured from various materials including rigid fiberglass duct board, sheet metal, and flex duct (a wire-reinforced mylar inner liner with fiberglass insulation wrapped around it and a durable vapor barrier on the outside). A leaky duct system can double the cost of keeping your family comfortable. Recent studies by the State of Florida Energy Office, Florida Solar Energy Center, and researchers around the world show that duct leakage is the biggest energy waster in a typical home and can account for up to 40% of a home’s cooling and heating energy use.
Crystal Air & Water, Inc. offers duct sealing that utilizes a state-of-the-art testing computerized system. With our leak testing software, we can measure air-tightness and flow rates through the air handler and registers. With this method, the guess-work is eliminated. We are able to confidently seal the openings at the point of leaks.
The efficiency of your heating and cooling systems is affected by the thermostat controlling them. Crystal Air & Water, Inc. can improve efficiencies with programmable thermostats that provide great returns on a small investment.
Carbon Monoxide Detectors
Carbon Monoxide (CO) is released during inefficient or poorly vented combustion of almost any type of fuel. When present in a home, CO can cause flu-like symptoms and even death. Installing the right Carbon Monoxide detector can save the lives of you and your family. Most Carbon Monoxide detectors only alarm when CO emissions reach dangerous levels. At that point, you may become incapacitated and unable to save your life.
The Carbon Monoxide detectors at Crystal Air & Water, Inc. are different. At Crystal Air & Water, Inc., we provide and install carbon monoxide monitors and detectors that can save your life and the life of your loved ones by providing warnings of the danger well in advance. We also guarantee that your system will be installed with extra precautions taken to eliminate the presence of CO.
Other Indoor Air Quality Products
Indoor Air Quality – Dehumidifiers
Dehumidifiers are a simple way to keep the humidity levels of your home down and remove the sticky feelings of overly damp rooms. Dehumidifiers wring the moisture from the air by pulling air over two sets of refrigerant-cooled coils that capture the water from the air and drip it into a tank. Crystal Air & Water, Inc. can assist your family in obtaining the right dehumidifier that will maximize the tranquility of your home.
Zoned cooling and heating
A zoned system supplies warm or cool air only to those areas that require it; energy is not wasted heating and cooling spaces that are not being used. In a typical zoning system, sensors in each zone monitor and control the temperature in a specific area or room. These sensors send information to a central controller that opens or closes motorized dampers in the ductwork. At Crystal Air & Water, Inc., we use Honeywell Zone Systems, and we can get your family acquainted with the perfect system for you.
